Reverse-Paintings by Candace
These paintings are on windows painted from the back side of the glass - painted in reverse. This technique is called reverse painting. Paintings that have been sold can be seen in the gallery.
Japanese Koi
This 31" x 33" double paned window was taken from a house that was to be remodeled. They are Japanese Koi at Play! The window sash is painted black over white with a crackle finish to give the illusion of the water splashing out of the pond. Hang it in your bathroom or kitchen, maybe a sunroom or on a covered patio. You will enjoy the view!
The Mermaid
The Mermaid is painted on a transom window out of an old house turned on its ends. It adds a little character and charm to the painting itself. The size is 12" x 36", perfect for a narrow wall space. The frame is several colors of blue, green, periwinkle and black, layered and then a crackled finish applied. She has a shell in her hands!
The Docks
The Docks is painted on a small window sash. The size is 24" x 20". The handle has wonderful patina and it looks great with the multi colored dry brush finish, simply adorable!
Spanish Villa
Spanish Villa is painted on a wooden window sash that has been white-washed. The size is 31.5" x 20".

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere!
Made from oak or birch, primed and painted with art and sprayed with a sealer. Three dimensional cut-outs were added to give this clock character.
